A black eye for the fat man

Today Michael Moore was dissed by the Oscar voters. Fahrenheit 911 did receive a single nomination. Passion of the Christ received 3. Professor Bainbridge hopes that Hollywood has heard the message that liberal propaganda is not entertainment. You can see the list of nominations at Oscar.com.

I agree that the absence of Michael Moore at the Oscars is a great day. Maybe one of these days I will watch his movie anyway, but only when it is broadcast for free on CBS.

I will never ever EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVER pollute my brain with the trash that is a Michael Moore film.

I have absoltuely no respect for a man who takes a subject like Collumbine (sp?) and makes a "documentary" on the subject and passes it off as a comedy.

He actually won an oscar for that film, but it was taken away when it turned out he had no actual facts in the movie.

Andy, I appreciate your sentiment. Michael actually is still the 2002 Oscar winner for documentary film. Many people have campaigned for revocation, but it is unlikely. You can read more here."Bowling for Columbine" certainly had a statement to make and Michael has helped redefine the term documentary. He deserves some respect for his work. He draws large audiences to the most unsual formats of film.

However, I am in complete agreement with you that his viewpoint is not patriotic. I am a capitalist and I vote with my dollars. I refuse to put money in his pocket to see his films.

However, it is not completely honest to critique work that you have not viewed. Borrow the film from a library and be honest when you make statements about his work. One of the reasons Mr. Moore's work gets so much press is pure sensationalism. If we stoop to his level and use lies and exaggeration, then we will only draw a larger crowd to his movies.

Someone will always pay to see any film, no matter how bad. So turn your back, close your wallet and tell your friends. Michael is just like any other child seeking attention, even negative attention will reinforce the behavior.
